Coach Stacy’s Virtual 5K

Today I hosted and RAN in my very own virtual 5k! The whole point was to get people moving, to have something to train for during the summer and to get involved. To be a participant you had to:

1. Run 3.1 anywhere you could. This could be around your neighborhood, with a friend, or on a treadmill

2. You then had to take a picture of your run or your time. I did a flash screen on my iphone from run keeper. Some friends took pics of their garmins and others took pictures of their treadmills.

3. You had to take a Sweaty Selfie after you were done

4. Post anytime from Aug 18-23 on the invite that you were added to.

626 people were invited, 62 people said YES they would do it and so far 10 people have done it (but there is still almost 2 days left). Stand by for final results.

I love to run. I feel there is such a great accomplishment in running cause so many people don’t do it, don’t want to do it or can’t do it. I run for the can’ts. Those who physically can not run. I think of them during horrible runs, but I also think of them during runs where I see something beautiful like a sun rise while I pound the pavement. Why do you run? Why do you NOT run? If it’s fear then get over it! Running is the one sport where you can always improve. Whether it be time or distance, it’s a sport that can be improved upon! You don’t have to be fast, you just have to GO!
