
So it probably goes without saying and by looking at my pictures that I love my Shakeology. I haven’t always. Way back when I was just a customer drinking it along with my P90X workouts they only had 2 flavors. Chocolate and Greenberry. I will tell you right now that I’ve never been a chocolate lover and Greenberry was, umm different back then. I’m glad they improved it since then. However, I was told it was healthy and I wanted to be healthy, so I drank it up. That seems like forever ago now. I then went through a few years where I didn’t drink it at all, I went to the gym and was running like a mad woman, getting no where fast. I had to run off everything I ate. I was just a “skinny-fat”girl. Ya know, the ones with no muscle tone. The cardio queen at the gym.
Once I found my way back to the loving arms of Beachbody and its wonderful programs, I was also back to drinking my shakes. I won’t lie, the dollar amount on this stuff was a killer for me. I heard people say “oh, cut out your latte”. Um excuse me? What if I don’t want to cut out my latte? Now what? I did however just realize that I was getting a ton of vitamins and superfoods in one serving. I knew that if I went to the store and bought all the superfoods they would add up way past what my Shakeology was costing. I think in general the up front cost scares people. $129 for this stuff? My Muscle Milk is half that. Does your Muscle Milk give you a daily vitamin? Does it have the superfoods? Do you know that Superfoods fight cancer. Have you ever heard of a friend drinking Muscle Milk daily that has lowered their blood pressure and gotten off their meds? No? Didn’t think so. How many things would we not buy if you had to pay up front on the first of every month? What if the only way to get some of your daily things is to refill a card at the first of each month, no cash, no credit cards, just reloading card on the first or you’d have to go without. How many things that we purchase and love would we stop buying or not be able to afford the up front cost? How about:
Starbucks: $5.50 for you grande latte= $165
Weekend Dinner with 4 person Family $75 each= $300
Weekend Movie with you and the spouse: $40 = $200
Lunch at work: $7.50 for 20 days = $150
So when I thought of it that way and realized it was actually replacing a meal, replacing my vitamin and that it was super healthy for me and not just a “protein shake” it then became a must have. You have to find the value in something you want to use in your daily life. Period. That is with everything you invest in. It has to have value. IF you can’t see the value in it, that’s fine. I’m not in the business of forcing Shakeology down throats and talking people into it. Some people love it and are discount coaches to get it at $96 dollars monthly. Others just say its not for them.
Discount COACHES!! Yes, you can be a coach and not do anything with the company and get the discount. It’s what many people do to get their shakes cheaper. If you have purchased a Challenge Pack in your past, anytime, you can get your sign up fee ($40) waived. Then you will get your discount and pay the monthly service fee ($15). Even with the service fee, if you drink Shakeology every day, you will save over $300!! That is 3 bags of Shakeology. Even Discount Coaches get commission. So that is the skinny on how I feel about the cost and a great tip on how to get it cheaper. Replace a meal and it’s the cheapest and healthiest meal you’ll have all day!
FLAVORS:
I am a creature of habit when it comes to how I like my shakes. I have had years of playing around with what works for me and when I give samples out or sell Shakeology starter kits I give my customers the following rules I go by on how to drink them.
- Only use water and a few ice cubes
- Use a base to smooth out your shake. I like to use either 1/2 a banana or 1/4 avocado
- after those 2 things are added, then use mix -ins that you like. I use several different things depending on my mood. Not all at once but I usually add- 1 tbsp. on Almond Butter, other fruits such as berries, cinnamon, Matcha Tea powder, and 2 tbsp of various fat free puddings.
- Always Blend. Always. At least the first time trying.
